Nice is like southern california, only it’s the French Riviera so it’s a little more elegant and old.

And another huge difference is that the ocean is like a big lake w/lapping waves.

Here's a spot, la Reserve, where we swam that was more out of the way. Even though it was rocky, it was still like a lake.

The food is amazing. Any boulangerie has great stuff. I finally did a delicious Salad Nicoise.

Nice is fairly overrun with tourists, but it's pretty easy to get beyond the density of the town and out into old villages which are completely enchanting.

We also had the good fortune of being taken into the mountain areas to a river where it was easy to walk through the water. Extremely refreshing in the constant heat.
